Webb Wheel Products warrants to the Buyer that all components of the UltraSet pre-adjusted hub assembly will be free from defects in material and workmanship. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This is the only warranty offered by Webb Wheel and no Webb Wheel employee or representative is authorized to make any additional warranty on behalf of Webb Wheel. The terms of the pre-adjusted hub assembly warranty are as follows:

Note: Off highway severe duty applications include but are not limited to logging, transit, end dump, concrete, emergency vehicles, refuse, mining, heavy haul, etc.

This warranty excludes normal wear and tear, as well as any component which fails or malfunctions as a result of improper installation or adjustment, customer abuse, overloading, damage resulting from a vehicle accident, improper use, improper or insufficient maintenance (including use with worn components, improper torque, defective spindles, etc.).

This warranty excludes coverage for any consequential damage, such as tires/wheels, air bags, slack adjuster, rotor/brake drum, pads/brake shoes, etc., nor does it include towing fees, repair time, or loss of downtime or freight. In no case will Seller be liable for any bodily injury, death, or property damage resulting from or in any way arising out of the products or their use or manufacture. IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, LAWSUITS, OR EXPENSES ARISING OUT OF ANY SALE, CONTRACT OR TRANSACTION WITH BUYER. This warranty includes the cost of repair or replacement, at the Seller’s option, of the UltraSet preadjusted hub assembly and/or its components.

For Aftermarket UltraSet hub warranties, the buyer must provide the end user’s proof of purchase from a Webb distributor, proof of vehicle vocation, and type of lubrication. If this information cannot be obtained, the warranty will default to a 2-year unlimited mile warranty that begins at the hub manufacture date.

Webb Wheel liability to Buyer, or anyone claiming through or on behalf of Buyer, with respect to any claim or loss arising out of the products or alleged to have resulted from actual loss or omission of Webb Wheel, whether negligent or otherwise, and whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, including, but not limited to, breach of warranty, shall be limited to an amount equal to the purchase price of the goods or parts thereof with respect to which such liability is claimed, or where appropriate and at the option of Webb Wheel, the reasonable cost of the repair or replacement of the goods or parts thereof.

If agreed otherwise in writing signed by Webb Wheel, original equipment manufacturers installing UltraSet pre-adjusted hub assembly on new tractors and trailers could be eligible for longer warranty coverage. See Warranty table for standard OE installed warranty coverages, however contact Original Equipment manufacturer or Webb Wheel Sales Representative for clarification of warranty coverage on UltraSet installed equipment.

Lubricant Criteria

WEBB WHEEL ULTRASET WHEEL END SYSTEMS

Lubricants currently approved for use in Webb UltraSet pre-adjusted wheel end systems all meet the following criteria:

The lubricant must be specified for wheel end or drive applications.

Lubricant Type/Grades
– Oil Synthetic/Mineral

Meets the requirements of SAE J2360 (MIL-PRF-2105E) or API GL- 5/MT-1.

Example of weights:
75W-90, 80W-90
80W-140, 85W-140

Semi Fluid Grease
Recommended Minimum Operating Temperature Limits of –20F to 325F [-29C to162C]*

Note: grease condition needs to be reviewed periodically during storage (i.e. separation and proper mixing) contact your lubricant provider for lubricant audit of quality.
Note: grease condition and fill needs to be reviewed following TMC RP631 recommendations.

*Lubricants on Webb Wheel’s approved list that do not meet these temperature limits have been thoroughly tested by Webb Wheel to ensure reliable performance.

ULTRASET PRE-ADJUSTED WHEEL END SYSTEMS
Any premium lubricant exhibiting the above characteristics and is listed by the lubricant manufacturer as a long-life lubricant is approved for use. Both product specification information and lubricant compatibility should be obtained from the lubricant manufacturer.

On-Highway Truck Applications
Webb Wheel UltraSet pre-adjusted truck wheel end systems are designed and approved for oil bath applications only. Use of semi-fluid or hard pack grease will result in loss of warranty coverage. Please reference the “Oil Synthetic/Mineral” section above for currently approved oil specifications.

On-Highway Trailer Applications
Webb Wheel UltraSet pre-adjusted trailer wheel end systems are designed and approved for oil bath or semi-fluid applications only. Use of hard pack grease will result in loss of warranty coverage. Please reference the “Semi-Fluid Grease” section above for specifications.

Off-Highway/Severe Duty Applications
Lubricants used for the Webb Wheel UltraSet standard 1-year packages must be typical hard pack grease, gear lube, or semi fluid greases designed for heavy duty wheel ends.

Webb Wheel will not approve the use of 50 weight transmission lubes or motor oil inside Ultraset wheel-ends. Wheel end performance & wheel seals can be compromised when these lubricants are used. Fleet preference may play a part in the wheel end lubricant selection decision. Ultimately, the choice of wheel end lubrication is a customer decision and responsibility. Please follow all related Technology & Maintenance Council recommended practices for wheel end maintenance such as RP 622, 624, 631, and 644.
